Darryl Morris, Sex Trafficking, Connecticut 2016
A shocking case of sex trafficking has come to light in Bridgeport, Connecticut, as two residents have been charged with the heinous crime. Darryl Morris, also known as King Sincere, 32, and Neshaya Dozier, 26, both of Bridgeport, face life imprisonment for their alleged involvement in the sex trafficking of a minor.
According to the indictment, which was returned on August 9, 2016, and unsealed today, Morris and Dozier conspired to recruit, harbor and transport a minor to engage in commercial acts. The indictment also alleges that Morris used force, threats of force, fraud and coercion to facilitate the sex trafficking of the minor.
Morris is charged with one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a minor and one count of sex trafficking of a minor, offenses that carry a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 10 years and a maximum term of imprisonment of life. He is also charged with one count of sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, an offense that carries a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 15 years and a maximum term of imprisonment of life.
Dozier is also charged with one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a minor. Both Morris and Dozier are being held without bail.
U.S. Attorney Deirdre M. Daly stressed that an indictment is not evidence of guilt. Charges are only allegations, and each defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
The case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bridgeport Police Department, East Hartford Police Department, Stratford Police Department and New York Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarala V. Nagala.
The alleged sex trafficking of a minor is a serious crime that has far-reaching consequences for the victim and their loved ones. The Grimy Times will continue to follow this case and provide updates as more information becomes available.
