A 24-year-old man from Pittsburgh has pleaded guilty to violating federal firearms laws, according to the United States Attorney’s office.
Daryl Williams, 24, of Pittsburgh, has admitted to possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime on two separate occasions: May 6, 2018, and May 29, 2018.
Williams will be sentenced on March 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. before United States District Judge Cathy Bissoon. The law provides for a sentence of at least 10 years and up to life in prison, with a fine of up to $500,000.
Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller is prosecuting this case on behalf of the United States.
The investigation leading to the conviction was conducted by the Greentree Police, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
The case is the result of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation, which targets high-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs, and transnational criminal organizations that threaten communities throughout the United States.
Williams’ plea demonstrates the effectiveness of this multi-agency approach in disrupting and dismantling these organizations.
