A New Mexico man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for child sexual abuse conviction. David Castillo, 38, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation who resides in Mexican Springs, N.M., was sentenced today in federal court in Santa Fe, N.M., to 20 years in federal prison for his child sexual abuse conviction.
Castillo will be on supervised release for ten years after completing his prison sentence. He also will be required to register as a sex offender.
The crimes took place in the summer of 2006, when the victim was eight years old, and over the Christmas holiday in 2006, when the victim was nine years old.
