Jason Michael Wolf, Statutory Rape of a Child, Massachusetts 2015

"A predator was brought to justice today," said U.S. Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz in a statement. "Jason Wolf’s despicable crimes will have a lasting impact on the victim and his family."

BOSTON, MA – A Washington D.C. man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for transporting a teenage boy from Maryland to engage in sexual activity, authorities announced today.

Jason Michael Wolf, 31, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Allison D. Burroughs to 10 years in prison and 10 years of supervised release. Additionally, upon release from prison, Wolf will be required to register for life as a sex offender in any state in which he resides.

The crime began in July 2015 when Wolf met the 14-year-old boy on a mobile dating app. The two traveled to Boston from Maryland and engaged in sexual activity in multiple states.

Law enforcement was alerted to the situation on Aug. 17, 2015, when the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Police received a report of an adult man and a minor acting inappropriately at the South Station Bus Terminal.

Wolf was arrested by the Boston Police and charged with aggravated statutory rape of a child under state law. He was later convicted of statutory rape of a child and is set to be sentenced in state court on Jan. 6, 2017.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth G. Shine prosecuted the case, which was announced by U.S. Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz, FBI Special Agent in Charge Harold H. Shaw, U.S. Postal Inspection Service Inspector in Charge Shelly Binkowski, Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, and MBTA Transit Police Chief Kenneth Green.

Wolf’s actions have left a lasting impact on the victim and his family, authorities said. His sentence serves as a reminder that those who prey on children will be held accountable for their crimes.
