MICHELLE ANDRA JOYNER, Child Sex Exploitation, Montana 2022

Great Falls, MT – A Montana woman has been sentenced to 300 months in prison for her role in the sexual abuse and exploitation of a child.

MICHELLE ANDRA JOYNER, also known as Michelle Dumond, a 46-year-old resident of Dearborn, Montana, was sentenced in connection with her guilty plea to sexual exploitation of children (production of child pornography).

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, JOYNER and her common law spouse, Timothy Weaver, sexually exploited a child. The case stemmed from a Cascade County Sheriff’s Office child sex abuse investigation that began in August 2016.

The investigation revealed that JOYNER and Weaver sexually abused a child for a number of years and took images of the abuse. Their digital devices were searched, and evidence was found of the heinous crimes.

JOYNER was sentenced to 300 months in prison, a special assessment of $100, and was ordered to forfeit a computer, tablet, and cell phone. She will also serve 10 years of supervised release after her prison term is completed.

Because there is no parole in the federal system, JOYNER will likely serve all of the time imposed by the court. However, she may be eligible for a sentence reduction for good behavior, which will not exceed 15% of the overall sentence.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Cyndee L. Peterson and was a cooperative investigation between the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office and the Homeland Security Investigations. Both agencies are members of the Montana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

This case was initiated under the Project Safe Childhood initiative, which was launched in 2006 to combat the proliferation of technology-facilitated crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children. The initiative is implemented through partnerships including the Montana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

JOYNER’s common law spouse, Timothy Weaver, was sentenced to 500 months in prison for his role in the crimes. It is a disturbing reminder of the severity of child sex abuse and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable.
