A 36-year-old La Porte, Indiana man was sentenced to 57 months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Decarlo Knighten was found guilty of possessing a Colt Python .357 magnum revolver at his residence in April 2013. He has two prior felony convictions for drug dealing and one misdemeanor conviction.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Frank Schaffer.
