ORLANDO, FL – Andrew Terryll Hudson, 51, of Deltona, Florida, is facing federal charges after an FBI investigation uncovered a disturbing trove of illegal material. Hudson was indicted on one count of distributing child pornography, one count of receiving child pornography, and one count of possessing child pornography, United States Attorney A. Lee Bentley, III announced today.
The case originated on December 29, 2014, when Hudson allegedly distributed images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children to an undercover FBI agent operating within a peer-to-peer internet network. This initial contact triggered a full investigation, culminating in the execution of a federal search warrant at Hudson’s Deltona residence. Authorities seized all computer-related media for forensic analysis.
The results of that analysis were chilling. Investigators uncovered over 1,000 images and videos depicting child pornography stored on Hudson’s devices. The sheer volume of material suggests a prolonged and deliberate pattern of illegal activity, according to sources within the investigation. Details of the specific content are being withheld to protect potential victims.
“This indictment is a stark reminder of the predators who hide in plain sight, exploiting vulnerable children,” stated a source close to the investigation who wished to remain anonymous. “The FBI and Volusia County Sheriff’s Office worked tirelessly to bring this individual to justice, and we will continue to pursue these cases with unwavering commitment.”
An indictment represents a formal accusation, and Hudson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Assistant United States Attorney Embry J. Kidd is prosecuting the case. The investigation was a collaborative effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
This case is being pursued under the umbrella of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice. The project aims to combat the escalating epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating federal, state, and local resources to identify, apprehend, and prosecute offenders, while also working to rescue victims.
