Grimy Times has learned that a Fort Dodge man has been sentenced to 21 years in federal prison for his role in a massive methamphetamine trafficking operation in Iowa.
Demarcus Foy, 31, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, was sentenced on May 4, 2022, in federal court in Sioux City for his involvement in the conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Foy and his co-conspirators distributed over 45 kilograms of methamphetamine in the Fort Dodge and Mason City areas between April 2015 and June 2020.
In addition to the massive distribution ring, Foy also sold methamphetamine to individuals working with law enforcement on four separate occasions in 2019, distributing a total of four ounces on each occasion.
During the sentencing hearing, evidence revealed that Foy would often receive between six to ten pounds of methamphetamine at a time from his supplier, which he would then distribute to his own customers.
Demarcus Foy was sentenced to 252 months’ imprisonment and must serve a 5-year term of supervised release following his imprisonment. He remains in custody of the United States Marshal until he can be transported to a federal prison.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn S. Wehde and was investigated by the Iowa Department of Narcotics Enforcement, Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Mason City Police Department, Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, and Iowa DCI Laboratory.
