Julio Cesar Fernandez-Salazar, a 45-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for illegally reentering the US after being deported a staggering 7 times. Fernandez-Salazar, who has used numerous aliases, was arrested by the Connecticut State Police in Colchester on November 27, 2024, and charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and drugs. This latest arrest was just another chapter in a long history of illegal reentries and convictions for Fernandez-Salazar, who was first convicted of an immigration violation in October 2007 in Arizona.
