Fort Wayne Man Sentenced to 188 Months in Prison for Methamphetamine Trafficking
Deshon A. Jenkins, 37, was sentenced to 188 months in prison for distributing and possessing a controlled substance, announced United States Attorney Clifford D. Johnson.
Jenkins was found guilty of distributing over 200 grams of methamphetamine on September 7, 2023, and possessing over 50 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute on September 29, 2023.
According to court documents, Jenkins led officers on a high-speed chase after he was apprehended, throwing a large bag of methamphetamine from his vehicle before crashing and being taken into custody.
The methamphetamine was recovered at the scene, and Jenkins was subsequently charged with distributing and possessing a controlled substance.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Fort Wayne Safe Streets Gang Task Force, which includes the FBI, the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Indiana State Police, and the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Justin C. Sheridan, who led the OCDETF investigation that identified, disrupted, and dismantled the highest-level drug traffickers and gangs threatening the United States.
The OCDETF approach leverages the strengths of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies against criminal networks, using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, and multi-agency approach.
