Detective John Bamford of the Arlington County Police Department has been recognized for his outstanding work in combating child exploitation and cybercrime in Virginia and beyond. Bamford, who also serves as an FBI Task Force Officer with the Washington Field Office, has been instrumental in identifying and rescuing hundreds of child and adult victims. His efforts have led to the takedown of a notorious cybercriminal forum in South Africa and the arrest of its administrators.

The award recognizes law enforcement partners who embody the spirit of liberty, service, and civic responsibility. Bamford’s work is a testament to the impact that one person can have in making a difference in the fight against cybercrime and child exploitation.
