HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Talon Aaron McIntosh, also known as ‘Trey’ and ‘T,’ and Mario Alonzo Pettway III, known as ‘Mike,’ have been handed down stiff sentences for their roles in a major methamphetamine trafficking organization operating in the Huntington area.
McIntosh, 28, from Detroit, Michigan, was sentenced to eight years and one month in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. Pettway, 23, also from Detroit, received six years behind bars, with three years of supervised release. Both men pleaded guilty to distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl.
According to court documents, McIntosh sold 439 grams of meth for $2,000 on September 7, 2023, while Pettway admitted to selling 8 grams of fentanyl over several occasions in St. Albans, totaling around $200. He also sold 29 grams of meth for nearly $1,300 on June 26, 2023.
The duo was arrested on November 15, 2023, after law enforcement seized approximately 206 grams of meth and a firearm at one residence and 11 firearms along with drugs at another. Pettway confessed to possessing the firearms and planning to sell the seized substances.
Both men were part of a larger group of 27 indicted on federal charges for distributing meth and fentanyl in West Virginia. McIntosh and Pettway’s sentences are among the 21 guilty pleas made in the main case, with investigations ongoing against the remaining defendants.
The successful operation was a result of a collaborative effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Cabell County Sheriff’s Department, DEA, MDENT, West Virginia State Police, ATF, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Assistant United States Attorneys Joseph F. Adams and Stephanie Taylor prosecuted the case, with United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers imposing the sentences.
