Lamarr Anthony Welch, a 35-year-old Detroit man, was involved in a large-scale drug trafficking operation that flooded the Huntington area with methamphetamine and fentanyl. Between March 3, 2025, and August 27, 2025, Welch distributed 651 grams of methamphetamine and 4.4 grams of fentanyl as part of the conspiracy. The operation was busted on September 10, 2025, when law enforcement officers arrested Welch at a trailer in Huntington.

Welch pleaded guilty to 11 felony drug offenses, including conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl, and distribution of large quantities of both drugs. He conducted transactions arranged by or at the direction of three co-defendants: Joshua Willie McCarver, Darnell Marice McCarver, and Geon Lavell Henderson.

During the arrest, law enforcement officers seized approximately 3.95 kilograms of methamphetamine, 266 grams of fentanyl, and a loaded firearm from the trailer. Welch’s sentence reflects the severity of his crimes and the impact of the drug trafficking operation on the Huntington community.

Welch’s 11-year prison sentence will be followed by five years of supervised release.
