A 28-year-old Iowa woman has been sentenced to 66 months in prison for her involvement in a large-scale controlled substance trafficking operation.
Devon Miller, 28, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Rebecca Goodgame Ebinger on February 27, 2019, for possession with intent to distribute Oxycodone, Adderall, and Hydrocodone, while in possession of a firearm.
According to court documents, the investigation began on July 14, 2017, when a Mills County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a car driven by Miller. At the time of the stop, Miller did not have a driver’s license and provided a false name.
Following her arrest, a search of the car revealed over 100 different pills, all of which were controlled substances. A loaded .45 caliber handgun was also located with the pills.
An investigation by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement found that Miller was selling the pills in Southwest Iowa.
The case was investigated by the Mills County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, and Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement. The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
Miller was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment of 66 months to be followed by a term of supervised release of three years.
