Moultrie, GA – The ruthless duo of Nyneson S. Jeudy and Jarrett J. Sutton faced the full brunt of justice on Monday, October 28, 2013, when they were sentenced for their heist at Georgia’s Dollar General in Coolidge. United States Attorney Michael J. Moore, representing the Middle District of Georgia, had no doubt about the gravity of their crime, as Jeudy was handed a sentence of 141 months imprisonment and Sutton received 70 months.
In a chilling confession, Jeudy admitted to brandishing firearms at Dollar General employees on March 22, 2010. Sutton’s participation in the theft was confirmed by store surveillance footage, which exposed Jeudy’s possession of both a rifle and a handgun. Despite Sutton’s involvement, he did not possess a firearm himself during the robbery.
Moore emphasized the senselessness of using firearms in crime, stating, ‘When you use a gun in a crime, you can expect to spend a long, long time in prison.’ The sentences aim to make both men reflect on their actions.
The investigation into this brazen theft was a collaborative effort between the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Coolidge Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Robert McCullers led the prosecution for the Government.
