A resident of Johnstown, Pa., has been sentenced in federal court to five years’ probation, the first year of which to be served as home confinement, on her conviction of violating federal narcotics laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

Donna M. Hawk, 50, of Johnstown, Pa., was convicted of conspiring to distribute less than 28 grams of cocaine base, in the form commonly known as “crack,” from Jan. 31, 2013, to April 23, 2013.

According to information presented to the court, Hawk, along with others, conspired to distribute the illicit substance. This major breakthrough was a result of the tireless efforts of law enforcement agencies working together to combat the growing threat of narcotics in the community.

Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
