Douglas Mills, Cocaine Distribution, West Virginia 2018

A Berkeley County man has been sentenced for his role in a cocaine distribution ring. Douglas Mills, also known as ‘D,’ age 27, was sentenced to probation for his involvement in the ring.

Mills admitted to selling cocaine in Berkeley County in August 2015. He pled guilty to one count of ‘Distribution of Cocaine Base’ in July 2018. This is a serious crime that can have severe consequences for those involved.

The investigation into Mills’ activities was a joint effort between several law enforcement agencies, including the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, the West Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Martinsburg Police Department.

Chief U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh presided over the case and handed down the sentence. The sentence, however, was to probation, a lighter sentence than many would have expected for such a serious crime.

Special Assistant U.S. Attorney C. Lydia Lehman prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. It’s worth noting that the sentence handed down was likely influenced by various factors, including the defendant’s cooperation and any mitigating circumstances.

The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle against drug trafficking in West Virginia. Law enforcement agencies continue to work tirelessly to disrupt and dismantle these rings, and the public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

Douglas Mills, whose real name is Douglas Mills, was sentenced in Martinsburg, West Virginia, in August 2018.
