New York Man Sentenced for Burglary Ring Involvement
A 28-year-old New York man has been sentenced to 54 months in federal prison for his involvement in a burglary ring that stole millions of dollars worth of vehicles, phones, and ATMs.
The theft ring, which operated between June 2020 and January 2021, primarily targeted car dealerships and mobile phone stores in Connecticut and New York. The group stole vehicle key fobs and vehicles from dealerships, and cell phones, electronics, and other merchandise from mobile phone stores.
In addition to the thefts, the group also burglarized video game stores and stole ATMs from check cashing businesses. Members of the ring often burglarized multiple locations in one night and would engage in high-speed chases with police to evade capture.
Douglas Noble, 28, of New York, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of stolen property on February 7, 2022. He was arrested on March 22, 2021, after being charged in a 13-count superseding indictment on February 16, 2021.
Noble was living in the Bronx at the time of his arrest and is currently residing in Brooklyn while released on a $100,000 bond. He is required to report to prison on July 6, where he will serve 54 months for his role in the burglary ring.
The investigation into the burglary ring was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Connecticut State Police, with the assistance of approximately 30 local police departments. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Robert S. Ruff and Ray Miller.
The burglary ring is suspected to have committed more than 180 burglaries and stolen more than $4 million in property. Noble’s involvement in the ring has been a significant blow to the group, and his sentencing is a major victory for law enforcement in the region.
