Marico Keeling, a 36-year-old drug dealer from Hamilton, Ohio, has been convicted of conspiring to distribute large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl in the Southern District of Ohio and beyond. Keeling’s crimes took place between August 2023 and October 2024, with the defendant acting as a source of supply for nearly two pounds of methamphetamine and fentanyl discovered in Wisconsin on December 19, 2023. Keeling’s co-defendant brother lived on Dewey Avenue in Cincinnati, where the two would often meet other drug dealers. The investigation led to the execution of search warrants on Keeling’s vehicle, residence, and his brother’s residence, uncovering both fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Keeling’s conviction was announced following a trial that began on July 20 before U.S. District Judge Douglas R. Cole. The government proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Keeling was responsible for the distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and 40 grams or more of fentanyl. As a result, Keeling faces at least five years and up to 40 years in prison. The defendant was arrested and charged federally in October 2024.
The investigation was led by the DEA Cincinnati Resident Office, with assistance from the DEA Green Bay Resident Office and the Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group. United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, Dominick S. Gerace II, and Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Detroit, Joseph O. Dixon, announced the verdict.
