Dustin Boone, Aiding and Abetting Civil Rights Violation, Missouri 2024

Former St. Louis police officer Dustin Boone has been found guilty of aiding and abetting a civil rights violation during the 2017 protests following the acquittal of Jason Stockley.

A jury delivered the verdict on [Thursday] after a nine-day re-trial of Boone and his co-defendant, Christopher Myers, 30, of St. Louis, Missouri. Myers was acquitted on a separate count of destruction of evidence in a federal investigation.

The evidence presented during the trial proved that Boone assisted former police officer Randy Hays in the assault of undercover police officer Luther Hall, who was working undercover during the protests.

United States District Judge E. Richard Webber presided over the trial, which wrapped [Thursday].

U.S. Attorney Sayler A. Fleming spoke on the conviction, saying, ‘As a police officer for the City of St. Louis, Dustin Boone violated the sacred trust placed in him to serve and protect members of the community.’

Special Agent in Charge Richard Quinn of the FBI St. Louis Division added, ‘Law enforcement officers must obey the law as well as enforce it. Those who violate their oaths do a disservice to the communities they are sworn to protect and serve.’

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with First Assistant United States Attorney Carrie Costantin and Assistant United States Attorney Rob Livergood handling the case.

Dustin Boone, 37, of St. Louis, Missouri, was found guilty of one count of aiding and abetting the deprivation of civil rights under color of law of undercover police officer Luther Hall.

Boone committed the crime in St. Louis, Missouri, during the 2017 Jason Stockley protests.

The re-trial of both officers lasted nine days.
