A Stafford man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
RICHMOND, Va. – Dwaine Tyrone Jones Jr., 27, was sentenced today to 10 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
According to court documents, on October 2, 2023, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office recovered a parcel containing 16,245 counterfeit blue oxycodone pills stamped with ‘M30’ that contained fentanyl.
On October 17, 2023, agents executed a search warrant at Jones’ residence, which he shared with his girlfriend and her parents.
During the search, agents recovered approximately 20,240 blue M30 pills containing fentanyl, along with approximately 40.5 grams of cocaine, a scale, $47,770 in cash, a half-pound of marijuana, and a loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun.
The total weight of the fentanyl pills was 2,137.04 grams.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Olivia L. Norman prosecuted the case.
Jessica D. Aber, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Jarod Forget, Special Agent in Charge for the DEA’s Washington Division, made the announcement after sentencing by U.S. District Judge M. Hannah Lauck.
