A shocking case of child exploitation has rocked the streets of Seattle, as a registered sex offender is accused of possessing disturbing images of child sexual abuse.

Edward James Creed, a 52-year-old man from Des Moines, Washington, was indicted by a grand jury this week for possession of images of child sexual abuse.

According to records filed in the case, Creed previously served nearly ten years in state custody for a 2008 Kitsap County conviction for rape of a child. He was released in 2017 but was returned to custody for a time in 2019.

The disturbing discovery was made in March 2024, when a community corrections review of his phone revealed that he had collected images of child sexual abuse. After his arrest, a search of his room at the sex offender residence revealed that he had a number of unapproved electronic devices.

The charges against Creed are serious, and if convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum ten-year sentence. His arraignment on the charge is set for next week.
