Eight Indicted for Meth Trafficking, Wisconsin 2017

Eight individuals face up to life in prison for their alleged roles in a massive methamphetamine trafficking ring in Wisconsin.

Fox Crossing, WI – A federal grand jury has returned a nine-count indictment against eight individuals involved in a conspiracy to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine in the Fox Valley area of Northeastern Wisconsin.

The indictment names Brady Pomeroy (38), Omar Sanchez (24), Curtis Whitaker (24), Zoey Scott (20), Zachary Hietpas (31), Teng Her (32), David Ly (31), and Zachary Kryzaniak (23) as defendants in the case.

According to the indictment, the defendants conspired amongst themselves and with others to obtain and distribute over 1500 grams of methamphetamine in the Fox Valley area. Multiple search warrants were executed at residences in Appleton and Fox Crossing, and a business in Fox Crossing.

The case was investigated by the Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group – Drug Unit, Los Angeles Interagency Metropolitan Police Apprehension Crime Task Force, Oshkosh Police Department, Appleton Police Department, Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, Fox Crossing Police Department, Grand Chute Police Department, Winnebago County District Attorney’s Office, Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office, Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory, and United States Drug Enforcement Administration.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Andrew J. Maier. An indictment is only a charge and not evidence of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent and are entitled to a fair trial at which the government must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Each defendant faces a minimum of 10 years and up to life in prison, as well as a maximum fine of $10,000,000 and between 5 years and a lifetime of supervised release. Additional drug charges were issued against Sanchez, Whitaker, Scott, Pomeroy, and Hietpas. Pomeroy also faces additional firearms charges.
