Emir Jesus Matos Camargo, Futures Fraud, Florida 2026

ORLANDO, FL – Emir Jesus Matos Camargo was ordered to pay over $1.3 million in restitution and penalties for perpetrating a futures fraud scheme, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today, April 13, 2026. The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida entered a consent order against Matos on the charges of futures fraud, fraud as an associated person of a commodity pool operator, and related regulatory violations.

According to the court order, Matos made repeated false statements to investors in Aureus Revenue Group LLC, a commodity pool he controlled. The fraud involved presenting a fabricated license to prospective investors, falsely claiming the CFTC had licensed Aureus as an investment fund. This document included a counterfeit CFTC seal, a forged signature of a former Commissioner, and a made-up license number.

Matos also misappropriated funds from pool participants, diverting investor money for unauthorized purposes. The CFTC’s investigation revealed a pattern of egregious misrepresentations designed to lure investors into the scheme.

The court ordered Matos to pay $666,038.67 in restitution to defrauded investors, jointly and severally with any final restitution judgment against Aureus Revenue Group LLC. Additionally, Matos faces $666,038.67 in civil monetary penalties, also shared with Aureus. He is permanently barred from violating the Commodity Exchange Act and CFTC regulations, and is subject to lifetime trading and registration bans.

The consent order resolves all claims against Matos stemming from the CFTC’s enforcement action, originally filed on September 4, 2024. The CFTC notes that the case against Aureus Revenue Group LLC is still ongoing. The agency also cautioned that restitution orders do not guarantee victims will recover their losses, as defendants may lack sufficient assets to cover the payments.
