Eric Stanfield Cochran-Cline, Racketeering, Oklahoma 2024

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – In a significant blow to the illegal narcotics trade, Eric Stanfield Cochran-Cline, a 27-year-old Tahlequah man, has been sentenced to 41 months imprisonment for racketeering.

The crime, which took place in 2012, involved Cochran-Cline traveling from Oklahoma to Fort Smith, Arkansas, and purchasing Oxycodone from Walgreens Pharmacy with a false prescription.

This was not an isolated incident; the defendant was part of a larger business enterprise involving narcotics or controlled substances. The court found that Cochran-Cline’s actions promoted, managed, established, and carried on this unlawful activity, as defined under Title 21, United States Code, Sections 846, 841(a)(1), and 841(b)(1)(C).

The investigation into Cochran-Cline’s activities was led by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and coordinated by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) of the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Assistant United States Attorney Shannon Henson represented the United States in the case. The Honorable James H. Payne, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearing.

Cochran-Cline was indicted in July 2014 and pled guilty to an Information in September 2014. The defendant will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending transportation to the designated federal prison at which he will serve his nonparolable sentence.

The sentencing of Eric Stanfield Cochran-Cline serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat the illicit narcotics trade in Oklahoma and beyond.
