A Fort Wayne man has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term for his role in a methamphetamine distribution ring.
Eric W. Johnson, age 40, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced to 156 months in prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Northern District of Indiana.
The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Holly A. Brady after Johnson pleaded guilty to distribution of methamphetamine.
According to documents in the case, in February 2019, Johnson distributed more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.
Johnson was also charged with unlawfully possessing a firearm on his person at the time of his arrest in August 2020.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, with the assistance of the Fort Wayne Police Department.
Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Nokes handled the case.
Johnson’s sentence is a result of his guilty plea to distribution of methamphetamine, a felony offense.
