CINCINNATI — Two men from Cincinnati have pleaded guilty to a heinous crime that shakes the very foundations of our society. Eric Zyn Ho, 25, and Bryan Mathew Otero, 27, both of Cincinnati, have admitted to conspiring to sex traffic a child, a crime punishable by up to life in prison.
According to court documents, in May, the defendants conspired to harbor a 14-year-old female and caused her to engage in a commercial sex act. This despicable act has left the community reeling and demands our strongest condemnation.
Both defendants were charged by criminal complaint on May 4 and remain in custody. They were indicted by a federal grand jury in the same month. The investigation was led by the FBI, including the Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Kansas City field offices, as well as the Union Township Police.
Ho also pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to produce child pornography, a crime that carries a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison up to 30 years.
The plea agreements in this case remain under seal pursuant to the Child Victims’ and Child Witnesses’ Rights Act.
U.S. Attorney Benjamin C. Glassman commended the investigation and prosecution of this case, stating, ‘This case is a stark reminder of the importance of protecting our children from exploitation and abuse.’
The defendants will face the full weight of justice for their heinous crimes. Eric Zyn Ho and Bryan Mathew Otero are currently in custody, awaiting sentencing.
