Djimon Dapree Johnson, Fentanyl Trafficking, Pennsylvania 2024

ERIE, Pa. – In a stunning blow to the drug trade in Erie, former resident and convicted felon Djimon Dapree Johnson, 27, has been sentenced to 72 months of imprisonment for his involvement in fentanyl trafficking and possession of stolen firearms.

The sentence was imposed by United States District Judge Susan Paradise Baxter on July 24, 2025. Johnson was caught with 382.61 grams of a substance containing fentanyl, indicating an intent to distribute. The illegal drugs posed a significant threat to public safety in the region.

Adding to his罪行, Johnson was also found to be in possession of two stolen firearms and a 50-round 9mm drum magazine, all as a convicted felon. Federal law strictly prohibits felons from possessing firearms or ammunition, a fact that did not deter Johnson.

Judge Baxter ordered that Johnson’s federal sentence be served consecutively to the sentence he is already serving for violating his parole on an unlicensed firearm conviction. This means Johnson will spend a total of six years behind bars, followed by four years of supervised release.

Assistant United States Attorney Molly W. Anglin prosecuted this case with determination, representing the interests of the government. Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti commended the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and Pennsylvania State Police for their relentless pursuit and successful prosecution of Johnson.

The sentence serves as a stark reminder of the consequences faced by those who choose to engage in drug trafficking and illegal firearms possession. The community of Erie can breathe easier knowing that a dangerous individual has been locked away, unable to pose a threat to innocent lives.
