Dr. Evelyn Llewellyn, a licensed psychologist in the state, has agreed to pay $658,294 to settle allegations that she received payments from the Medicare and Medicaid programs for psychology services that were not provided.

Llewellyn, who maintains a medical practice in psychology with her husband Dr. Michael Lonski in Greenwich, is accused of receiving payment for claims submitted by Lonski to the Medicare and Medicaid programs for psychology services allegedly provided by Llewellyn to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries that were, in fact, not provided.

Llewellyn’s husband, Dr. Michael Lonski, pleaded guilty in Hartford federal court to healthcare fraud on December 12, 2022. He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 12.

The matter was investigated by the Office of Inspector General for the Department of Health and Human Services and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Richard M. Molot and Susan L. Wines, and by Assistant Attorney General Joshua Jackson of the Connecticut Office of the Attorney General.
