Fairport Man Guilty of Distributing Child Pornography

A disturbing case of child exploitation has come to light in the Rochester area, with a 27-year-old Fairport man pleading guilty to distributing child pornography.

Cody Clarke, a resident of Fairport, New York, appeared before U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa and entered a guilty plea to the charge, which carries a minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum of 20 years, and a fine of up to $250,000.

The investigation into Clarke’s activities began on May 20, 2018, when it was discovered that he had distributed child pornography using the KIK Messenger application on his smartphone. A thorough search of his phone revealed a shocking cache of approximately 1580 images and 51 videos of child pornography, including disturbing content that depicted sadistic conduct and the sexual abuse of infants and toddlers.

Assistant U.S. Attorney John J. Field stated that the evidence against Clarke was overwhelming, and the plea deal was a result of the defendant’s cooperation with investigators. The investigation was led by Special Agents with Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Kevin Kelly.

Clarke’s sentencing is scheduled for May 14, 2020, at 9:15 a.m., before Judge Siragusa. The community can only hope that justice will be served, and that those responsible for such heinous crimes will be held accountable.
