Thomas Daniel Alexander, Heroin Trafficking, Arkansas 2024

FAYETTEVILLE – In a hard-fought victory for law enforcement, Thomas Daniel Alexander, 36, of Fayetteville, has been sentenced to over ten years in federal prison. Alexander was convicted on one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin and Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Offense.

The sentence, handed down by Honorable Judge Timothy L. Brooks at the United States District Court in Fayetteville, is 123 months imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release.

According to court documents, Alexander was distributing heroin in the Fayetteville Division of the Western District of Arkansas. Detectives from the 4th Judicial District Drug Task Force (DTF) confirmed this through two controlled purchases of heroin.

The crackdown on March 25, 2022, led to a search warrant at Alexander’s residence, which is less than 1000 feet from an Elementary School and a Sports Complex. Inside, detectives found a cache of weaponry and illegal substances, including 79.1 grams of heroin, 13 amphetamine/dextroamphetamine pills, and 15 suboxone strips, alongside $540.00 US Currency.

The seized heroin was confirmed as positive by the Homeland Security Investigations Crime Laboratory. The case was investigated by the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney David Harris.

This sentencing is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and enhancing neighborhood safety across the nation. Reinvigorated in 2017, PSN brings together all levels of law enforcement to target violent criminals and develop effective strategies for community safety.
