Felony Felon Caught at Border
A previously deported Mexican national with a history of aggravated felonies has been arrested in Doña Ana County, New Mexico, after attempting to re-enter the United States.
According to the US Border Patrol, Manuel Aguerro-Alarcon, a 37-year-old Mexican national, was previously deported to Mexico through Laredo, Texas, after being convicted on charges of conspiracy to kidnapping and robbery. His conviction led to his deportation in the past.
Last Friday, Border Patrol agents encountered Aguerro-Alarcon in Doña Ana County, marking his second attempt to re-enter the country. Under federal law, individuals with a history of aggravated felonies cannot lawfully re-enter the US without the consent of the appropriate authority.
Aguerro-Alarcon’s case was investigated by the US Border Patrol, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicole Hammond prosecuting the case. A civil complaint is only an accusation, and Aguerro-Alarcon is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
The arrest serves as a reminder of the efforts of law enforcement agencies to keep communities safe from individuals with a history of violent crimes.
As this case unfolds, the Grimy Times will provide updates on the developments and any further information that becomes available.
The incident highlights the ongoing challenge of border security and the complexities of immigration laws in the US.
