⏱ 2 min read

A convicted felon from Maryland is heading back to prison after being caught with a loaded firearm in a stolen truck in the District of Columbia. Christian Malik White, 26, was found leaning against a pickup truck with no license plates in the 1800 block of 9th Street NW at about 3:15 a.m. on August 29, 2025. When questioned by Metropolitan Police Department officers, White lied about driving the truck and having a key to it. However, officers discovered a key in his pocket and found the truck had been reported stolen out of Maryland.

Inside the truck, officers found a loaded Glock 19 with a laser sight and two extended magazines loaded with a total of 39 rounds of ammunition. The firearm had been reported lost by a District resident in February 2025. White, who was on probation for a Maryland cocaine distribution conviction at the time, has a history of felony convictions, including serving as a straw purchaser for firearms and distributing cocaine.

White pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon on December 2, 2025, and was sentenced to 40 months in prison, to be followed by 10 months of home confinement and three years of supervised release. This is his fourth felony conviction and third involving a firearm.

The sentence is a significant one, with federal prosecutors having requested a minimum of 57 months in prison. White also faces additional probation revocation proceedings in Maryland. The case highlights the ongoing issue of felons possessing firearms and the need for continued enforcement efforts to prevent such crimes.
