COLUMBUS, GA – A Columbus man is facing a decade in prison and a hefty fine for his role in a narcotics and firearm case.
Clint Walker, 27, of Columbus, Georgia, was found guilty of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute in an amount over 50 grams.
According to the plea agreement, Walker was stopped by police on December 19, 2017, and found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a Star semi-automatic handgun.
Walker’s prior convictions, including robbery by force, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, prohibited him from possessing a firearm.
The case was brought under the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) program, which aims to reduce violent crime and make neighborhoods safer.
Walker is facing a mandatory minimum of 10 years in federal prison, up to a maximum sentence of life in prison, a $10 million fine, or both. He will be sentenced in the coming months.
The case was investigated by the Columbus Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Crawford Seals.

The reinvigoration of Project Safe Neighborhoods was announced by Attorney General Jeff Sessions in October 2017, as part of a series of actions to address rising violent crime in America.
The program has been successful in bringing together all levels of law enforcement to reduce violent crime and make neighborhoods safer.
