Trent Porter, a 38-year-old from Beebe, Arkansas, has been sentenced to 27 years in federal prison for his role in a fentanyl conspiracy that resulted in the death of an individual. Porter, along with co-defendants Lamont Kirk and Willie Johnson, distributed thousands of fentanyl pills in the Little Rock area. The investigation began on August 20, 2023, when Little Rock Police Department officers responded to a distress call and found the victim, D.R., deceased from a lethal dose of fentanyl.
Porter pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute fentanyl resulting in death, as well as possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. His co-defendants, Kirk and Johnson, also pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charge and received sentences of 13 and 14 years, respectively. The sentences were handed down by United States District Judge James M. Moody, Jr.
The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD). On August 23, 2023, DEA and LRPD officers searched Kirk’s residence, locating a firearm and a small amount of narcotics. The search was a crucial step in uncovering the fentanyl conspiracy and bringing the defendants to justice.
