Darion Ford, a 26-year-old from Junction City, Kentucky, was involved in a large-scale fentanyl trafficking operation that came to an end in December 2024. Ford had recently restocked his supply of narcotics from Lexington and was caught by law enforcement on December 18, 2024. When stopped, Ford admitted to having a gun and approximately 1,000 fentanyl pills and seven grams of fentanyl powder at his residence. The investigation led to the seizure of 85.146 grams of fentanyl and a firearm, which Ford used to further his drug trafficking activities.
The probe was conducted by the DEA and Danville Police Department, and Ford was subsequently charged with possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys James Chapman and Amanda Morgan.
On Thursday, Ford was sentenced to 10 years by U.S. District Judge Karen Caldwell.
