Hieu Trung Vu, Methamphetamine Trafficking, District of Columbia 2025

⏱ 2 min read

Hieu Trung Vu, a 37-year-old illegal alien from Vietnam, was running a fentanyl and methamphetamine trafficking operation out of a Georgetown Airbnb in Northwest DC. On December 4, 2025, police received an emergency call about a woman in an apartment with Vu, who was in possession of narcotics. When officers arrived, they found two handguns and a substantial quantity of narcotics, including methamphetamine, cocaine, cocaine base, amphetamine, and fentanyl.

Vu pleaded guilty on March 17, 2026, to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, amphetamine, cocaine base, and fentanyl, and to one count of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. He was sentenced to 60 months in prison and will be deported to Vietnam after serving his time.

The investigation began when police received the emergency call, which led them to the short-term rental in the 1400 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW. Officers obtained a search warrant and recovered the firearms and narcotics, including a loaded handgun. Laboratory testing confirmed the presence of fentanyl and other narcotics.

Vu’s sentencing is a result of the Trump administration’s efforts to crack down on illegal aliens who commit crimes in the US. US Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro stated that Vu showed a complete disregard for US laws and borders, and that his deportation will help keep American communities safe.
