ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico – An Arizona man was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison for engaging in sexual acts with a minor victim using threats and intimidation.
In August of 2021, Fernando Yatsatie, Jr., 48, a member of the Zuni Pueblo, unlawfully engaged in a sexual act with a minor victim using threats and intimidation.
Fernando Yatsatie, Jr. pleaded guilty to sexual abuse. Upon his release from prison, Fernando Yatsatie, Jr. will be subject to fifteen years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.
There is no parole in the federal system.
Fernando Yatsatie, Jr., a resident of Arizona, will serve 11 years and 1 month in prison for his crimes.
The case was investigated by the Gallup Resident Agency of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office with assistance from the Zuni Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Marshall is prosecuting the case.
First Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison and Justin A. Garris, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albuquerque Field Office, made the announcement today.
Fernando Yatsatie, Jr. will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.
The crimes were committed in August of 2021 in New Mexico.
