A massive methamphetamine ring operating in Columbus, Ohio, has been brought to its knees as the final defendant pleads guilty to a drug conspiracy crime punishable by 10 years up to life in prison.
Marvin C. Bozeman, II, 31, of Las Vegas, served as the group’s methamphetamine supplier, shipping massive quantities of the drug from his hometown to Columbus via the United States Postal Service.
In spring 2019, Columbus Division of Police officers received information from law enforcement in West Virginia that large amounts of methamphetamine were being transported from Columbus to be distributed in West Virginia. Further investigation revealed the defendants were distributing large quantities of the drug and using various residences in Central Ohio to store and distribute the methamphetamine.
Bozeman admitted to supplying his co-conspirators with packages containing pounds of methamphetamine from Las Vegas, with each pound selling for approximately $1,000. The local drug traffickers would then redistribute the drugs amongst themselves and throughout the region.
Co-conspirators charged in this case include: Joseph Brian Howard, Timothy D. Copley, Samantha Howard, Darin T. Copeland, and Charlee Ann Blankenship. They have each pleaded guilty and await sentencing.
The narcotics conspiracy as charged in this case is punishable by at least 10 years and up to life in prison. Sentencing of the defendant will be determined by the Court based on the advisory sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors.
Vipal J. Patel, Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, announced the plea entered into today before U.S. District Judge Edmund A. Sargus, Jr. Assistant United States Attorneys Kevin W. Kelley and Elizabeth Geraghty represented the United States in this case.
The FBI and Columbus Police Department worked together to bring down the massive methamphetamine ring, and their efforts have paid off with the guilty plea of Marvin C. Bozeman, II.
