GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA – Camerino Perez Perez, a/k/a ‘Squirrel,’ 41, of Levy County, Florida, was slapped with a federal indictment for one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by an illegal alien, a serious crime that threatens public safety.

The indictment, announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, carries a maximum penalty of up to 15 years in prison if convicted. Perez is scheduled for his arraignment in federal court before United States Magistrate Judge Midori Lowry on July 1, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. in Gainesville, Florida.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case, and Assistant United States Attorney Adam Hapner is prosecuting the case.
