Foreign National Faces 2-Year Prison Term for Illegal Reentry
RALEIGH – A federal grand jury in Raleigh has indicted MARCOS ALEJANDRO CASTILLO-MUNOZ, a 44-year-old foreign national from El Salvador, on a charge of Illegal Reentry, according to the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
CASTILLO-MUNOZ, who was previously deported, was found in Wake County, leading to his indictment on the federal charge. If convicted, he faces a maximum imprisonment term of two years, a $250,000 fine, and a term of supervised release following any term of imprisonment.
The charges against CASTILLO-MUNOZ are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. His case is being investigated by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations and Homeland Security Investigations.
