Robert Wayne Roady, 50, a disgraced former police officer with the Veteran’s Administration, will spend the next 14 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to attempted transportation of child pornography. The Roseburg, Oregon resident wasn’t protecting the vulnerable; he was preying on them, meticulously installing hidden cameras in private spaces to capture depraved images and videos.
The scheme unraveled in October 2020 when the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received reports of Roady’s sickening behavior. An immediate investigation, later bolstered by FBI assistance, revealed a pattern of covertly placed cameras designed to violate the privacy and innocence of children. Roady, a man sworn to uphold the law, instead abused his position of trust to facilitate his perversions.
