Carl Duckett, Drug Conspiracy, IA, 2023

Fort Dodge, Iowa – Carl Duckett, 32, and his wife Jessica, 28, were handed down a federal prison sentence of over a decade each for their involvement in a drug conspiracy spanning seven years. The couple, both residents of Fort Dodge, pleaded guilty to distributing at least 15 kilograms of methamphetamine and more than 100 pounds of marijuana within the local area.

Their criminal activities began in 2006 and continued until October 2013. During a search warrant at their residence in 2011, police uncovered a substantial stash of growing marijuana plants, methamphetamine, and firearms. In 2013, another search warrant led to the seizure of six ounces of methamphetamine, three pounds of marijuana, and $9,000.

The Ducketts faced justice before United States District Court Judge Mark W. Bennett in Sioux City. Carl Duckett was sentenced to 183 months’ imprisonment for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and marijuana, as well as possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. His wife Jessica received a sentence of 120 months for her role in the conspiracy. Both were also assessed special fees of $200 and $100 respectively, and must serve a five-year term of supervised release following their prison sentences.

Assistant United States Attorney Shawn S. Wehde prosecuted the case, while law enforcement agencies including the Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation conducted the investigation.
