A Fort Hall man is facing serious charges after allegedly committing a brutal assault.
Dulton E. Johnson, 23, of Fort Hall, Idaho, was indicted on September 10, 2013, by a federal grand jury in Pocatello for assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
Johnson appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ronald E. Bush at the federal courthouse in Pocatello and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The indictment alleges that Johnson intentionally assaulted another person, resulting in multiple broken bones and serious bodily injury.
According to the indictment, Johnson is punishable by up to ten years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release.
The case was investigated by the Fort Hall Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Johnson’s trial is set for March 10, 2014, before U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill.
An indictment is a means of charging a person with criminal activity. It is not evidence. The person is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
