Foster Man Charged with Child Pornography
A 31-year-old man from Foster, Rhode Island has been indicted on child pornography charges, just four years after serving time for attempting to meet a minor for sex.
John Q. Adams was arrested on February 11, 2021, after an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations and the Rhode Island State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The investigation found that Adams allegedly uploaded a video in January 2021 depicting a prepubescent female engaged in sex acts with an adult male.
Adams has been detained since his arrest and was indicted on charges of receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
Acting United States Attorney Richard B. Myrus, Homeland Security Investigations Acting Special Agent in Charge William S. Walker, and Rhode Island State Police Superintendent James M. Manni announced the indictment.
If convicted as charged, Adams faces 15-40 years in federal prison followed by up to lifetime supervised release.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Denise M. Barton will prosecute the case.
A federal indictment is merely an accusation and Adams is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
