Three men in South Florida have been sentenced for their roles in a sex trafficking scheme that exploited vulnerable teenage girls who had run away from foster care. Antonio Michel, Jaime Figueroa, and Raymond Jean preyed upon the girls’ youth and instability, forcing them into commercial sex acts for financial gain. The crimes occurred in the Miami area, with the defendants taking advantage of the victims’ lack of family support.
The sentences, handed down by U.S. District Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks, reflect the severity of the crimes. Michel received 180 months in prison, Figueroa received 235 months, and Jean received 144 months. The defendants pleaded guilty to various charges, including sex trafficking of a minor and production of child sexual abuse material.
According to authorities, the defendants targeted some of the most vulnerable children in the community, treating them as a source of profit. The sentences represent an important step toward justice for the victims and demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement to protecting trafficking victims and bringing perpetrators to justice.
