RAPID CITY – A Mexican man has been sentenced for reentering the US after deportation.
Francisco Jimenez-Grijalva, 31, was sentenced to time served and ordered to be removed from the United States.
The sentencing took place on July 23, 2025.
Jimenez-Grijalva was indicted for Illegal Reentry after Deportation by a federal grand jury in May 2025. He pleaded guilty on June 6, 2025.
Jimenez-Grijalva, a non-citizen of the United States and a Mexican national, was deported from the United States to Mexico in 2015 and was found back in the United States in May 2025. He was arrested for DUI in Pennington County.
After the arrest, it was discovered Jimenez-Grijalva had been deported from the United States on three separate occasions. Reentering the United States after deportation is a felony.
