A chaotic scene unfolded in the quiet streets of Moline, Illinois, on August 6, 1914. An uninvited feline visitor sparked a heated confrontation between neighbors that nearly turned deadly. The trouble began when a small gray cat, belonging to Mrs. Pospisil of Thirty-sixth street and Second avenue, wandered into the yard of her neighbor. The homeowner, visibly annoyed, chased the cat away, prompting the owner’s husband, Frank Talak, to take umbrage. Talak, residing at 245 Thirty-sixth Street, stormed over to the neighbor’s residence, sparking a heated argument. The commotion reached a boiling point, with cries and shouts filling the air. Fortunately, the situation was brought under control before it escalated further.
