ALBANY, NEW YORK – A Massachusetts man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for his role in the sexual exploitation of a child and travel with intent to engage in unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

Frank Twing, Sr., 33, of West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, was sentenced to 25 years in prison, followed by 25 years of supervised release, for his crimes.

The sentencing comes after Twing admitted to engaging in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old child, during which he created sexually explicit videos depicting the child. He also planned to travel from his home in Massachusetts to New York to have sex with an approximately 12-year-old child.

Twing will also be required to forfeit the property he used to commit the offenses, pay special assessments, and register as a sex offender upon release from prison.

The case was investigated by the FBI’s Albany Division Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, the New York State Police, the Massachusetts State Police, and the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Michael D. Gadarian and Benjamin A. Gillis are prosecuting the case as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.

The case serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting our children from predators and the serious consequences that come with these crimes.
