Frankie Cook, Felon in Possession of a Firearm & Drug Charges, New York 2023

A Buffalo man is headed to prison after being found guilty of possessing a firearm and drugs.

Frankie Cook, 29, was sentenced to serve 108 months in prison for possession of 100 grams of heroin and 40 grams of fentanyl, as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Erie County Probation Department, Erie County Sheriff’s Department, and Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Seth T. Molisani stated that in February 2020, Cook was convicted of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, making him unable to possess a firearm. In February 2020, Erie County Probation officers went to Cook’s residence and discovered a possible drug preparation station and hidden safe containing significant amounts of fentanyl, heroin, and other contraband.

Frankie Cook’s sentencing took place in U.S. District Court, where U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo presided over the case.

The investigation was led by Commissioner Michelle Olszowy of the Erie County Probation Department, Sheriff John Garcia of the Erie County Sheriff’s Department, and Special Agent-in-Charge Stephen Belongia of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
